FAQ
Why are the contents
still wet after drying?
a. When a large number of items are being sterilized, enough time may not
have been selected to dry them completely.
b. Improper placement of the contents may prevent the hot air from
circulating evenly.
c. Water may be accumulating in the concave bottoms of bottles; shake the
water off before placing them in the Chamber.
Press the DRY mode button to select the desired time setting to dry again,
or see page 7 for adjusting the drying time.
Why is there an odor
while sterilizing or
drying?
This may be an indication that the Heating Plate needs descaling. Scale
buildup is normal and occurs more quickly in hard water areas. See page 9
for descaling your WABI BABY
TM
Sterilizer & Dryer.
Why do I detect an
electrical burning
smell?
Possible water damage to the Electric Base Unit from water flowing into
the circuit board through the air vents. Stop using the unit immediately and
contact our Customer Service.
Why are there white
spots on the Heating
Plate, Lid, Chamber,
Racks, or Accessory
Tray?
This may be an indication that the Heating Plate needs descaling. Scale
buildup is normal and occurs more quickly in hard water areas. See page 9
for descaling your WABI BABY
TM
Sterilizer & Dryer.
Why does sterilization
sometimes take so
long?
You may have poured too much water onto the Heating Plate or left too
much water on the contents after rinsing. Try shaking off as much residual
water as possible.
Why does the
sterilization cycle
seem so short?
You may not have poured enough water onto the Heating Plate. Be sure to
use exactly 100 ml.
Why does water leak
out of the sterilizer?
You may have poured too much water onto the Heating Plate. Any excess
water may flow into the air vents and cause damage to the Electric Base
Unit. Please contact Customer Service for support.
Why does the
unit trip the circuit
breaker?
This is an indication of an overloaded circuit. Unplug all other appliances on
the same circuit or try the unit on a separate electrical circuit without other
appliances.
FRESH WATER RINSE
To avoid burns, please be sure that the water has cooled down.
1.
Use a clean towel to absorb all cleaning solution until dry. A dedicated soft
toothbrush may be used to clean stubborn buildup on the Heating Plate.
2.
Fill the Measuring Cup with 100 ml water.
3.
Use a clean towel to absorb all water until dry.
4.
Wipe the Heating Plate with a clean damp towel until no cleaning solution
remains.
5.
Dry the Heating Plate completely with a clean towel.
6.
The sterilizer is now ready for regular use.
IMPORTANT: Never pour the liquid out. WIPE DRY ONLY. There are many air vent openings on
the Electric Base Unit. Attempting to pour the liquid out directly may cause it to flow into the vents.
This will cause permanent damage to the circuit board inside the Electric Base Unit and is not covered
by the warranty.
METHOD 2 - UNPLUGGED DESCALING WITH VINEGAR OR CITRIC ACID
This descaling method does not use descaling mode.
1.
Unplug the unit.
2.
Dry any remaining water from the Heating Plate with a clean towel.
3.
Choose one of the following, make sure the chosen solution covers the
entire rim; do not exceed the maximum level.
a. Pour 100 ml distilled white vinegar onto the Heating Plate.
b. Pour about 100ml of water onto heating plate. Add 1 teaspoon of food grad citric acid.
4.
Leave the solution in the Heating Plate for a minimum of one hour or until
the scale has dissolved.
5.
Use a clean towel to absorb the white vinegar until dry. A dedicated soft
toothbrush may be used to clean stubborn buildup on the Heating Plate.
NOTE: Do not use harsh abrasives or cleaning agents (such as bleach) or a scouring pad to
clean the Heating Plate or allow them to come into contact with the unit. They can cause serious
damage.
6.
Repeat steps 2-5 if necessary.
