Spider
Disassembly:
1. Remove retaining ring

from fork ring shaft

Slide shaft out from lifting fork
(a)
and gearcase.
2. Slide fork free of lifting ring. If necessary, disconnect
pitch control cable

3. Tip trowel up, allowing it to rest on guide handle.
Remove plastic plug

from bottom of spider.

Disconnect or remove spark plug to avoid acci-
dentally starting engine when turning trowel
blades.
Trowel arms are free to rotate. Be careful when
handling trowel to avoid pinching hand or fingers
between trowel blades.
4. Carefully hold trowel arms. Remove M8 screw
(m)
and washer
(k)
holding spider to gearcase
output shaft.
5. Pull blade assembly from gearcase output shaft.
6. On CT48 models only, remove four M8 bolts holding
retaining ring to trowel arms. Retaining screws are
not used.
7. Remove four arm retaining screws
(h)
and grease
fittings
(j)
. Remove trowel arm assembly

from spider
(g)
.
8. Slide blade lift ring
(f)
off of spider.
