Operating at High Elevations
Background
If using the machine at or above elevations of 1524 m (5000 ft.) asl, the load on the
generator must be reduced to maintain efficient engine performance. Reduced load
can be acheived by temporarily removing a fuse located within the generator
enclosure.
Requirements
Machine stopped
Control switches off
Engine stopped and breaker switch off
Standard tools
Procedure
Perform the procedure below to reduce the load on the generator when operating
at or above elevations of 1524 m (5000 ft.) asl.
1. Remove the bolts
(a)
on the E-stop panel.
2. Carefully pull the panel away from the enclosure a small distance to allow
access to the E-stop switch
(b)
mounted in the panel.
3. Push the release tab
(c)
in the direction of the arrow to detach the switch, then
remove the panel.
4. Twist and remove the fuse holder
(d)
.
5. Pull the fuse
(e)
out of the holder.
NOTICE:
Retain the fuse for future use.
6. Reinstall the fuse holder and E-stop switch.
7. Reinstall the E-stop panel.
Result
The load on the genarator will be reduced upon starting the machine.
