Operation in Terminal Mode
To operate the device, the device must know the PIN (PIN = Personel
Identification Number) of the inserted SIM card. In Terminal mode, the PIN is not
saved in the
TO-PASS
®
modem GRPS RS-232. It must be entered each time the
device is switched on.

PIN input
AT commands can be used to set the PIN.
No PIN is required when using a PIN-less SIM card.
6.1.1
Control by Applications
In general, the application or application program that you run on the connected
computer will control the
TO-PASS
®
modem GRPS RS-232. In other words, the
commands to establish and release a data connection via GSM network are given
to the device by the application. The application communicates with the device
via AT commands like any other modem. The same applies to sending SMS.
6.1.2
Direct Control with AT Commands
You can also give the device direct AT commands, so that it performs the
required functions. In this case, use any terminal program to enter the AT
commands. (see Section " Working with a Terminal Program ")
