PIN in Terminal Mode
Entering the PIN
If LED S blinks slowly (once per second), the
TO-PASS
®
modem GRPS RS-232
is waiting for the PIN to be entered.
In GPRS mode, the PIN is passed by the connected PLC to the
TO-PASS
®
modem GRPS RS-232.
The PIN must be entered in the data block of the PLC program. Check the
connection between the PLC and the
TO-PASS
®
modem GRPS RS-232.
LED S (Status) is blinking fast
If LED S is blinking fast (4 times per second):
•
The SIM card was either not recognized, or
•
The SIM card was PUK blocked because the wrong PIN was entered too
many times.
1
Make sure that the SIM card has been correctly inserted in the device (see
"Inserting the SIM Card").
2
Check whether the SIM card is SIM blocked. Insert the SIM card into a
normal cellular telephone. The telephone will display whether the SIM card
is PUK blocked. If the SIM card is PUK blocked, enter the PUK and then a
PIN. Ideally, use a cellular phone.
3
Before inserting the SIM card into the
TO-PASS
®
modem GRPS RS-232
again, identify why the SIM card was PUK blocked: What PIN is in the
PLC program?
4
Check and if necessary, delete the parameter SIMSTATE of the
TO-PASS
®
modem GRPS RS-232.
Check and delete parameter SIMSTATE
The parameter SIMSTATE is displayed by pressing the SET button (see "Output
of Current Settings and Values"):
SIMSTATE=SIM_OK
Operational
SIMSTATE=SIM_ERROR
Wrong PIN; one failed attempt
SIMSTATE=SIM_PROBLEM
Wrong PIN; two failed attempts or
no SIM detected.
For SIMSTATE=SIM_ERROR or SIMSTATE=SIM_PROBLEM, proceed as
follows:
