Changing the blade set
1. Switch the appliance off using the on/off switch
(Fig. 2
ⓑ
) and disconnect from the power supply.
2. Undo both screws on the blade set; remove the bottom
blade and the top blade (Fig. 8).
When assembling, the bottom blade and the top blade
should be aligned as follows:
3. Set the locking switch (B) for the cutting length
(Fig. 3
ⓐ
) and the adjustment lever (Fig. 4
ⓑ
) to the
shortest cutting length.
4. Place the top blade with groove on the wedge-shaped
plastic guide and press it down at the back so that the
drive pin grips the blade cutout.
5. Position bottom blade and reinsert the two screws.
6. Before tightening the screws, align the bottom blade so
that there is a gap of 0.5 mm to 1.0 mm between the
front edge of the bottom blade and the front edge of the
top blade (Fig. 7).
7. Tighten both screws (Fig. 8).
8. Check the alignment of the bottom blade again.
Problem elimination
Blade set is cutting badly.
Blade set is pulling hair out.
Cause: Blade set is dirty.

Clean and oil the blade set (Fig. 6).
Cause: Blade set is worn out.

Replace blade set (Fig. 8).
Skin injury
Cause: Too much pressure on the skin.
f
Reduce pressure when cutting close to skin.
Cause: Cutting angle is too steep.
f
Hold appliance flatter to the skin.
Cause: Damaged blade set.
f
Check whether the blade edges were damaged during
use and replace the blade set if necessary.
Cause: Gap between the front edge of the bottom blade
and the front edge of the top blade is not correctly aligned.

Align the bottom blade (Fig. 7).
Appliance is not working.
Cause: Defective power supply.

Make sure that contact between the appliance plug and
the socket is faultless. Check the mains cable for pos-
sible damage.
