Putting into operation
Before putting the light into opera-
tion, the user has to check whether
the mains voltage is identical to
the rated voltage and frequency
specified on the rating plate.

To avoid flickering of new (not
burned-in) fluorescent lamps, first
use them for some time (approx.
100 h) in undimmed condition
(see information provided by the
manufacturer). Operating the light
in undimmed condition or without
light control during the first days
or weeks results in an increased
brightness and in maximum use-
ful life.
Electric connection
Standard design
The lights are provided with a com-
mercially available mains plug.
Special designs
Some of the special designs are
delivered with special plug or
with terminal. These lights may
only be connected by a trained
electrician.
BUS types
Lights for connection to a BUS
system are delivered with a 5-pole
special plug.

Lights in DALI design have no
operating unit of their own, they are
usually operated externally.
These lights can be operated by
means of a touch switch (Touch-
DIM) or via DALI bus.
Please also observe the connec-
tion diagrams in the Appendix
(page 51).
