4�9�2 BEFORE LOADING
• In freezing weather, make certain the apron chain is
not frozen to the spreader floor or slides, make sure
there are no lumps of manure frozen to the floor.
• Do not store manure in the spreader between
unloading times during freezing weather. A frozen
load could result in severe equipment damage (i.e.
torn floor apron chain).
• Do no store wet manure in the spreader or keep the
spreader outdoors with manure in it.
• Inspect machine for damaged or loosened parts,
repair or replace parts as required before beginning
work.
• Inspect the box interior that no tools, parts remain
inside the box while loading manure.
• Inspect all moving parts� Be sure to grease if
required (refer to lube section)�
• Oil the beater drive chain and inspect pulley belt,
remove any standing manure or debris�

Shut off hydraulics or mechanical drive.
•
Shut off the engine.
• Ensure all components have stopped moving.
• Set the parking brake.
• Remove and pocket the ignition key.
4�9�3 TRACTOR
• Verify all the access covers are secured.
• Start tractor.
• Run the engine for a few minutes to allow it to warm.
• Be sure machine is stable, with no unusual vibration.
4�9�4 STOPPING
• Slow engine RPM.
• Disengage the PTO (if equipped) or stop forward
movement.
• Stop engine, remove ignition key and place in your
pocket and wait for all moving parts to stop.
4�9�5 EMERGENCY STOPPING
If an emergency occurs:
• Stop forward movement
• Disengage the PTO (if equipped) and stop
tractor�

Shut off the engine.
• Correct emergency situation before restarting
engine and resuming work�
