FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO JUMP START YOUR VEHICLE:
a. Position AC and DC cords to reduce risk of damage by your car's bonnet, door, or
moving engine part.
b. Stay clear of fan blades, belts, pulleys, and other parts that can cause injury to persons.
c. Check polarity or battery posts.
POSITIVE (POS, P, +)
usually has larger diameter than
NEGATIVE (NEG, N, –)
post.
d. Determine which post of the battery is grounded (connected) to the chassis. If the negative
post is grounded to chassis (as in most vehicles) see (e). If the positive post is grounded
to the chassis to (f).
e. For negative-grounded vehicle,
FIRST
connect the
POSITIVE (RED)
clip to
POSTIVE (POS,
P, +)
ungrounded post of the battery.
SECOND
connect the
NEGATIVE (BLACK)
clip to
vehicle chassis or engine block away from the battery. Do not connect clip to the
carburetor, fuel lines, or sheet metal body parts. Connect to a heavy gauge metal part of
the frame or engine block.
f. For positive-grounded vehicle,
FIRST
connect the
NEGATIVE (BLACK)
clip to
NEGATIVE (NEG,
N, -)
ungrounded post of the battery.
SECOND
connect the
POSITVE (RED)
clip to
vehicle chassis or engine block away from the battery. Do not connect clip to the
carburetor, fuel lines, or sheet metal body parts. Connect to a heavy gauge metal part of
the frame or engine block.
g. Ensure that your vehicle’s transmission is in
PARK
or
NEUTRAL
and apply the hand brake.
Turn on the vehicle’s ignition.
h. DO NOT CRANK THE ENGINE FOR MORE THAN 5 SECONDS AT A TIME AND ALLOW
THE SYSTEM TO COOL DOWN FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 MINUTES IF A SECOND
ATTEMPT IS NECESSARY.
i. As soon as the motor starts, disconnect the cables from you vehicle.
j. If the vehicle fails to start consult a mechanic.
k. When disconnecting the jump start, proceed in
REVERSE ORDER
.

WARNING! THE CLAMPS ARE ALWAYS LIVE AND POWER TO THE CLAMPS CAN
NOT BE SWITCHED OFF. STORE THE CLAMPS IN THE HOLSTERS PROVIDED
WHEN THIS PRODUCT IS NOT IN USE. NEVER ALLOW THE RED AND BLACK
CLAMPS TO TOUCH AND KEEP THEM AWAY FROM METALLIC OBJECTS.
