6.2 Long shutdowns of the equipment
STORAGE PRIOR TO INSTALLATION
- Avoid damp, salty environments, if possible.
- Place the equipment on wooden platforms and store them protected from unfavourable weather conditions.
When the equipment stays unused for long periods, proceed as described below.
1)
Avoid damp and salty enviroments during machine shutdowns.
2)
Place the equipment on wooden pallets and store protected from bad weather conditions.
3)
Set the machine in safety condition before starting it up.
4)
Before using the machine, check the condition of the electrical and pneumatic systems and of all parts the
working of which may be affected by prolonged shutdowns.
5)
Prior to commissioning the machine check the vibrator motor and all other machine components are intact
and functioning.
6)
Allow the pneumatic actuators to run load-free for at least 10 minutes without any material inside to ensure
that all components work correctly.
7)
Check to ensure correct working of the electric vibrator, running it only for a few seconds with the hopper
empty.
8)
Clean the machine thoroughly before starting it.
N.B.:
Prolonged use of the vibrator with the machine on empty can damage the latter.
6.3 Reuse
Important
If the equipment is to be used in different conditions and with materials other than the previous applica

tion, ensure the “Permitted use” indications are complied with.
Before reusing the equipment after a long shutdown, proceed as described below.
1)
Check the main nuts and bolts to make sure they are tightened properly.
2)
Verify electrical and pneumatic connections.
3)
Start up the equipment (see “Production Start-up”).
