9.1 Trouble-shooting
Minor problems can be solved without consulting a specialist.
The following Table contains a list of the most common problems, the possible causes and possible remedies.
For particularly difficult actions which are not mentioned in the Table, contact the Manufacturer’s Customer
Service Department.
Danger - Warning
Before carrying out any operation “set the equipment (machine) concerned in safety” (see “Glossary
and terminology”), operate according to the indications on the “Operation and Maintenance Manual”
and in accordance with and in compliance with the standards in force as regards health and safety.
FAULT
PROBABLE CAUSE

Motor does not start.
1) No electrical connection.
1) Check the fuses, replace
if damaged
2) Faulty motor or fault in mains
2) Repair or replace faulty part
3) If it is provided a generator
3) Check the generator power
4) An inverter that stops
the starting torque
4) Refer to the inverter manufacturer
Motor starts but stops immediately.
1) Direction of rotation incorrect
1) Reverse polarity (see “Electrical
connection”).

2) Clean the separator (see “Cleaning
the separator”).
3) Motor burnt out
3) Replace the motor.
High motor absorption
1) The separator does not discharge
the separated solid
1) Change end tube of the screw
2) Solid outlet clogged
2) Change solid outlet module
The gear reducer overheats.
1) Scarce oil quantity in gear unit
1) Restore the proper oil level
(see “Gear reducer lubrication”)
Loss of flow rate and low degree of
dryness of the separated solid at the
outlet
1) The air vent tube is clogged
1) Remove what obstructs the air vent
tube
2) The overflow is not working when
the solid section is half
2) Increase the flow rate of the
separator
3) The screen is clogged
3) Clean the screen with pressurized
water jets.
4) The material fed at the inlet is not
homogeneous
4) Mix suitably the material in the
feeding tank before starting the
separation
5) The inlet module is clogged
5) Remove the material from the
machine, remove the inlet hopper
and clean the inlet module
