Operating the Compressor
1. Connect compressor to battery. Follow electrical
connections guidelines.
2. Plug hose into compressor air connector. Use a
hose rated for 180ûF (80ûC).
3. Tool or accessory may be attached to end of
air hose.
4. Turn on air compressor by pressing top side of
main the power switch. A red light will indicate
that the unit is “ON”. The compressor will now
run.
5. A tools or accessory may now be used.
6. The pressure switch will automatically cycle the
compressor on and off as air is used.
7. Turn off air compressor by pressing bottom side
of main the power switch. The compressor will
stop running and the red light will go out.
8. Always disconnect the compressor from battery
after use.
9. Store compressor in a clean dry place.
INTERCOOLER
The intercooler provides a small air chamber that
reduces the air temperature at the quick-connect
fitting. There is a pressure switch and a relief valve
mounted to the intercooler.
PRESSURE SWITCH
The pressure switch will automatically stop the
compressor when it reaches the factory set “cut-
out” pressure of approximately 100 psi (670 kPa).
When the pressure drops to the “cut-in” pressure of
approximately 70 psi (480 kPa), the compressor will
start up again.
RELIEF VALVE
If the pressure switch does not shut off the
compressor at its “cut-out” pressure setting, the
relief valve will protect against high pressure
by “popping out” at approximately 125 psi (860
kPa). The relief valve should be operated manually
once a month to make sure it moves freely and is
functional. Pull on the metal ring momentarily.
DRAINING THE INTERCOOLER
It is normal for condensation to collect in the
intercooler. This can be drained off at the relief
valve by pulling on the metal ring. This should be
done after every ten hours of usage or before any
prolonged storage period.
CLEANING
• Do not wash the unit if it is hot to the touch.
• Do not direct high pressure water at the unit.
(pressure washers, car washes, etc.)
To prevent severe injury or death:
• The compressed air stream can cause soft tissue
damage to exposed skin and can propel dirt,
chips, loose particles, and small objects at high
speed, resulting in property damage or personal
injury.
• Always wear ANSI Z87.1 approved safety glasses
with side shields when using the air compressor.
• Never point any nozzle or sprayer toward any
part of the body or at other people or animals.
• Always turn the compressor off and bleed
pressure from the air hose and intercooler
before attempting maintenance, attaching tools,
or accessories.

To prevent minor or moderate injury:
• Never touch exposed metal, compressor
head or head outlet tubes.
• Never touch any exposed metal parts on
compressor during or immediately after
operation. Compressor will remain hot for
several minutes after operation.
• Never reach around protective shrouds or
attempt maintenance until unit has been
allowed to cool.
