General Safety:

Always
Know Your Winch: Take time to fully
r ead and under stand the included I nstallation
and Oper ations guide, and Basic Guide to
Winching Techniques, in or der to under stand
your winch and the winching oper ation.
•
Never
oper ate this winch if you ar e under
16 year s of age.
•
Never
oper ate this winch when under the
influence of dr ugs, alcohol or medication.
•
Never
exceed winch or wir e r ope r ated
capacity. Double line using a snatch block
to r educe winch load.
Installation Safety:
•
Always
choose a mounting location that is
sufficiently str ong to withstand the maximum
pulling capacity of your winch.
•
Always
use factor y appr oved switches,
r emote contr ols, accessor ies and installation
components.
•
Always
use gr ade 5 or better har dwar e,
never weld bolts and never use longer bolts
than those supplied fr om factor y.
•
Always
complete winch mounting and
attachment of hook to hook loop befor e
wir ing winch dur ing installation.
•
Always
position fair lead with WARNI NG label
on top.
•
Always
spool the wir e r ope onto the dr um as
indicated by the dr um r otation label on the
winch. Requir ed for automatic br ake to wor k
(if winch is so equipped) and for cor r ect
installation or ientation.
•
Always
pr estr etch wir e r ope and r espool
under load befor e use. Tightly wound wir e
r ope r educes chances of "binding", which is
wir e r ope wor king it's way down into a loosely
wound wir e r ope layer, and catching or
damaging itself.

Winching Safety:
•
Always
inspect winch installation, wir e r ope
and hook condition befor e oper ating winch.
Fr ayed, kinked or damaged wir e r ope must
be r eplaced immediately. Loose or damaged
winch installation must be cor r ected
immediately. I mmediately r eplace a hook that
is damaged, bent or twisted.
•
Never
leave remote control plugged into winch
while fr ee spooling, r igging, or sitting idle.
•
Never
hook wir e r ope back onto itself. This
damages the wir e r ope. Always use a choker
chain, wir e choker r ope or tr ee tr unk pr otector
on the anchor.
•
Always
prior to winching, remove any element
that may inter f er e with saf e winch oper ation.
•
Always
take your time when r igging for a
winch pull.
•
Always
be cer tain the anchor you select will
withstand the load, and the str ap or chain will
not slip.
•
Never
engage or disengage clutch if winch is
under load, wir e r ope is in tension or wir e
r ope dr um is moving.
•
Always
unspool as much wir e r ope as
possible when r igging. Double line or pick
distant anchor point.
•
Never
winch with less than 5 wr aps of wir e
r ope ar ound the dr um, the wir e r ope could
come loose fr om the dr um.
•
Always
stand clear of wir e r ope and load
dur ing oper ation.
•
Never
touch wir e r ope or hook while in
tension or under load.
•
Never
touch wir e r ope or hook while
someone else is at the contr ol switch or
dur ing winching oper ation.
•
Never
touch wir e r ope or hook while r emote
contr ol is plugged into winch.
•
Always
stand clear of wir e r ope and load and
keep other s away while winching.

connections. Replace if damaged.

window to avoid pinching lead in door, when
using r emote inside a vehicle.

avoid continuous side pulls which can
pile up wir e r ope at one end of the dr um.
This can damage your wir e r ope or winch.

ensur e the clutch is fully engaged or
disengaged.

use winch to tow other vehicles.

of wir e r ope and winch.

Always
use car e to not damage your fr ame
when anchor ing your vehicle dur ing a winching
oper ation.
