7.3.1. Cleaning Pellet extruder
Cleaning of the extruder is necessary when the extrusion is visibly poor, discontinuous or absent.
It is important first of all to exclude other factors such as:
•
Incorrect print code (.gcode)
•
Extrusion temperature not suitable for the material
•
Unsuitable material
Cleaning the extruder can be divided into two main procedures:
•
nozzle cleaning
•
screw cleaning
CLEANING THE NOZZLE
The cleaning of the nozzle is used to remove any small parts or debris that have become blocked in the final part
of the extruder and obstruct the correct exit of the material.
To clean the nozzle, follow the procedure below:
•
1. Launch the “Autohome” command in the “PRINT” menu
•
2. Heat the extruder to a temperature of 180 ° C
•
3. Using a 12-inch hex wrench, gently unscrew the nozzle
•
4. Once free, remove it with pliers
•
5. Clean the inside with a small flat head screwdriver
•
6. Reassemble the nozzle in its place
