3.4.4 Detection Mode
WMB-X230 offers two modes for fish detection (Mode 1 and Mode 2). Both modes detect fish, but
vary slightly in their approach.
Seafloor discrimination
settings will adjust how detections occur on outer beams. When discrimination
is set to
none
, the detection algorithm will try to detect targets as close to the seafloor as possible,
but may incorrectly identify part of the seafloor return as targets. When discrimination is set
high
, the
detection algorithm will try to ignore targets close to the seafloor in case they are part of the seafloor
return.
Medium
discrimination is a balance between the two.
Note: Use the ‘Show Sonar Targets’ checkbox to see what is
being detected as targets in real-time on the Sonar display.
