An overview of Vcontroller hardware and software
requirements
The stand-alone WatchGuard Vcontroller application serves as the
primary administrative access to a Firebox Vclass appliance, that you can
install and run on more than one administrative workstations (for
information on the range of operating systems, see the following section).
Once you use the Vcontroller to log into the appliance (and depending
upon your access account’s privileges), you can record appliance-specific
profiles, including policies, system configurations, as well as log files,
alarms, activity monitors and more.
All this is stored in a database on the appliance itself, which you can back
up frequently onto any local computer or server for use in disaster
recovery.
