OTE
If you are a network administrator and have already installed and
configured at least one Firebox Vclass appliance and want to import its
configurations into a new factory default appliance by means of an XML-
format profile, you can get complete information on this setup option in
“Importing a Profile into a New Appliance” on page 71.
Changing the IP address of an appliance’s Private interface
After discovering your new, unconfigured appliance, you must change
the default IP address of interface
0
(Private) to the operational IP address
assigned to it for network use. Once this is complete, you can log in with
Vcontroller and perform the initial installation and configuration.

In the Devices Found window, select the appliance that you want to
configure.

Click the button by
Set Interface 0 IP
.
An additional set of features appears in the window, as shown in the
following illustration.

Click in the
Interface 0 IP
field and type the IP address assigned to
this appliance’s interface 0. (This IP address will be the primary
network identification for the appliance.)

Click in the
Interface 0 Mask
field and type the subnet mask for this
appliance’s local network.
