Number of IP Addresses
Click in this field and type the maximum
number of potential clients that will be
assigned IP addresses at one time for use in
Internet access.
Leasing Time
Open this menu (shown below) and choose
Days
or
Hours
.
Delete the number in the
Leasing time
text
field and type the number of hours (or days)
that an IP address will be loaned to a DHCP
client connection.
Completing interface 1 (Public) entries
Interface

(usually used for public/external network connections)
incorporates the following network addressing options:
•
Static IP address (this IP address should be publicly routable)
•
DHCP (requires an IP address from a DHCP server)
•
PPPoE (receives an IP address from the PPP connection)

OTE
The Firebox V100 appliance does not support DHCP or PPPoE. Only
Static IP addressing is available.
If this is a V10 appliance, interface
1
(Public) will be the primary interface
between the ISP (represented by the modem) and the user’s own network.
