SteamerGard™ Models WT -200 & WT-400 

OPERATION 

SteamerGard

 Unit

 

First, ensure that the main cold tap water valve is open and the feed water valve on the

 SteamerGard™ 

unit 

is open. The valve handle will be parallel to the valve body. If the

 SteamerGard™

 unit is new or filters have 

just been changed, air should be purged from the system with the DEPRESSURIZE switch. Once the

 

SteamerGard™

 unit is initially started by pushing the power switch to the "on" position and the pressure 

controls are adjusted (See Start Up Procedure in Installation Manual), there is no need to shut off the unit 
except for maintenance or servicing- The system is completely automatic and the power switch should 
always remain in the "on" position. When the steamer is not in use, such as overnight, the system remains in 
a "stand-ready" mode even though the power switch is in the "on" position. When the steamer is used, and it 
begins to draw purified water from the storage tank, the system automatically responds, coming on just long 
enough to maintain a full level of water in the storage tank. Then, the system returns to the "stand-ready" 
mode. This cycle continues, automatically, during steamer operation

 

Low Pressure Switch:

 

Should the feed water pressure drop below 15 psi a low pressure s witch automatically cuts off power to the pump motor, 
to protect it from damage. When adequate feed water pressure returns, the switch will automatically turn the pump 
motor back on. 

IMPORTANT:

 If teed water conditions are such that the pressure fluctuates in the 15 psi 

range, the

 SteamerGard™

 unit may cycle on and off rapidly resulting in severe wear on the 

pressure switch contacts. If this condition is observed, the

 SteamerGard™

 unit should be 

turned off immediately and corrective actions taken. Consult your factory representative for 
preventive measures that will minimize the problem.

 

SteamerGard

 Controls and Monitors

 

The 

SteamerGard

 system is equipped with controls and monitors designed to allow the operator to make simple 

adjustments, make servicing e asy, and provide information about performance and system status. Even though the 

SteamerGard

 unit is completely automatic it is important to be familiar with these controls. 

Power and Depressurize Switch:

 

The power/depressurize switch has two functions.   First, it controls the electrical power to the 

SteamerGard

 unit. and 

second, it allows the operator to automatically depressurize the unit for servicing (e.g. filter changes). When the power 
switch is pushed to the "ON" position (left, toward the motor), the system is on. When the power switch is in the middle 
position, the system is off. When the power switch is pushed to the "DEPRESSURIZE" position and held, the system will 
automatically depressurize (see Maintenance section for procedure). The system should not be depressurized during 
normal operation. 

Flush Valve:

 

During normal operation, the flush valve must be closed with its handle perpendicular to the valve body. The valve should 
be opened slowly once a month to help keep the membrane dean. Also, the flush valve must be opened in order to 
depressurize the system when making the required periodic filter changes or when servicing the system. 

Pump Pressure Control:

 

During normal operation, when the OPERATING light is on, this control should be adjuste d so that the pump pressure 
gauge reads approximately 180 psi. Turning the BACK FLOW REGULATOR clockwise increases the pressure, while 
counterclockwise decreases the pressure. Once the pressure is set, the
