Installation of the cooler
The cooler is placed on the prepared graphics board. Then turn the board around together with the cooler. All screws
are now screwed in manually in the cooler together with the enclosed washers.
Then slightly tighten the four screws evenly (crosswise) around the GPU. You must tighten all attachment elements
with utmost care! Excess tightening may destroy the component beneath!

All enclosed screws are identical.
Notice HEATKILLER® GPU-X² G92 / 9600GT / 9800GTX
For the GPU section, M2.5 screws are enclosed with the cooler. The voltage converter is attached with M3 screws.
Notice HEATKILLER® GPU-X² G200
For the GPU section, M2.5 screws are enclosed with the cooler. The voltage converter and the NVIO chip are
attached with M3 screws.
With the GPU-X² G200, the GPU and Ram section are covered with heat conductive paste. The enclosed heat
conductor pads must be used for the voltage converter and the NVIO chip.
Notice HEATKILLER® GPU-X² 4850 / 4870
As the RAM modules are aligned at a 90° angle, the cooler may rest crookedly on the GPU in case of excess, one-
sided tightening. This must be prevented under all circumstances! The six screws for attaching the cooler must first be
tightened loosely, then tightened evenly starting with the center screws.
Two different heat conductor pads ae enclosed to the 4870 cooler for cooling the voltage converter section. The
oblong pad (70 x 8 x 0.75mm) is intended for the flat voltage converters, the broader pad (50 x 10 x 0.5mm) for the
Vitec chips.

The supplied washers (1,3mm thick) are mounted between the card and cooler. The passive heat sink (from the air
cooler) is still used on the VRMs.
Installation and leak test
After the installation, a check and test run must be performed! The coolers are constructed on the reference design,
still, all sections of the board have to be checked for possible contact to the cooler. In addition, the contact of the CPU
to the cooler must be checked along with the bending of the board. A slight bending of the board is normal.
A leak test should preferably be performed outside of the computer. If this is not possible, the hardware may not be
turned on during the test run!
Once all of the cooler elements were tested, the computer can be put into operation. Check the temperature of the
CPU immediately after the start!
General information
The HEATKILLER® GPU-X² series has a defined input/output. The port on the left (pointing towards the slot cover) is
the input. The output is located on the right.
We recommend using demineralised or deionised water (distilled water) as cooling medium. To prevent the build-up of
algae, use common citric acid, which reliably prevents the spread of algae.

Dismantling the original cooler may lead to the loss of the manufacturer's warranty. In case of uncertainty, please
contact the manufacturer of the graphic board.
