Recommendation:
Replace the plunger seals when you replace the plunger.
Requirement:
Wear clean, chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves when performing
this procedure.
Required tools and materials
• Chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves
• Plunger removal tool
To remove the pump head plunger:
Warning:
To avoid finger or hand lacerations from sharp-edged surfaces, use
care when removing head-assembly components. Bending or twisting the
sapphire piston shaft can cause it to fracture or splinter.

Use the recessed side of the plunger removal tool to apply pressure to both sides of the
release collar, and then remove the old plunger.
