Maintenance Procedures
Assembling the T-Wave ion guide assembly
Required materials
•
Chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves
•
Jeweler’s screwdriver
To assemble the T-Wave ion guide assembly
1. Fit the aperture plate to the T-Wave ion guide assembly.
2. Using the jeweler’s screwdriver, fit and tighten the 3 screws securing the
aperture plate to the T-Wave ion guide assembly.
3. Fit the locating ring to the T-Wave ion guide assembly.
4. Fit the metallized O-ring to the T-Wave ion guide assembly.
Requirement:
Fit a new metallized O-ring, if necessary.
5. Using the jeweler’s screwdriver, fit and tighten the 3 screws securing the
locating ring to the T-Wave ion guide assembly.
Fitting the T-Wave ion guide assembly, PEEK ion block support,
and ion block assembly to the source assembly
Required materials
•
Chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves
•
3-mm Allen wrench
•
Lint-free cloth
•
HPLC-grade (or better) 1:1 methanol/water
•
New seals and O-rings
Caution:
To avoid recontaminating the T-Wave ion guide assembly,
wear clean, chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves during this
procedure.
