Caution
When re-fitting the drive motor, ensure that it is located in the correct position:
• For 230V machines use the forward most holes (nearest the outfeed
end of the machine).
• For 115V machines use the rear holes.
10. Locate the motor and motor spacer plate in the correct position and then
secure to side plate.
11. Fit the toothed belt to the small motor pulley and then push onto the larger
drive pulley.
12. Replace all other components in reverse order of removal.
3.2.13 PCB Removal and Fitting - General Comments
When removing any PCB from the machine ensure that you:
• Switch off the machine and disconnect from the mains.
Caution
• Wear an anti-static wrist band or earth yourself on the machine before
touching the PCB. Static charge can damage the sensitive electronics
of the PCB.
Remove all the cables from the PCB. Note their position for refitting. In gen-
eral the cables will only fit into the correct connector in the correct orientation.
3.2.14 Guard Switch Adjustment
When the stapler cover panel is opened, a guard switch automatically cuts
operation of the machine. This switch must be correctly adjusted to perform
correctly.
Procedure
1. Remove the R/H side cover.
2. Loosen the 2 x M4 nyloc nuts which secure the guard switch (905-310) to
the R/H side plate.
3. Close and secure the stapler cover panel and switch on the BookMaster.
4. Adjust the position of the guard switch horizontally. To function correctly,
the plunger should have 1mm of travel remaining before full compression.
The plunger must not bottom out on the switch housing.
5. Tighten the nyloc nuts.
6. Test operation of the switch by opening and closing the stapler cover panel
- the sidelays should energise and de-energise every time.
7. Replace the R/H side cover.
3.2.15 Fold Roller Spacer Rings
Under some circumstances, scuffing of the booklet cover can occur. This can
be overcome by widening the fold roller spacing by the addition of spacer
