4. Measure the gap between the shaft and the top of the wire frame;
• If the gap is 17mm, no adjustment is necessary (check the other
clamp).
• If the gap is not 17mm or if the trim is not satisfactory, then adjustment
will be required.
5. Using a 4mm allen key (see Figure 3:17);
• Turn the adjustment screw clockwise to increase the gap (reduces
clamp pressure).
• Turn the adjustment screw anti-clockwise to reduce the gap (increases
clamp pressure).
Caution
The clamp rollers are adjusted individually. To ensure that booklet ‘twist’ does
not occur in the conveyor ALWAYS ADJUST THE CLAMP ROLLERS
EQUALLY.
3.4.3 Squaring the Trim Stop
If booklets are being trimmed out of square, first ensure that the conveyor
clamps are not adjusted incorrectly or unevenly i.e. allowing the book to
bounce out of square against the trim stop or causing one edge of the book to
lead (see section 3.4.2 ‘‘Conveyor Clamp Adjustment’’).
Procedure
1. Set the BookMaster and TrimMaster to make A4 to A5 booklets (11x17”
to 8½x11”)
2. Take approximately six sheets of A4 paper and drop them into the Book-
Master.
3. Mark the front cover of the produced booklet for your reference.
4. Place the booklet onto a flat surface and measure the distance from the fore
edge to the spine along both edges.
• If both measurements are the same then no adjustment is necessary.
• If one edge is shorter that than the other then adjustment must be made.
