12. It is now possible to remove the conveyor belts by simply pulling them
over the side plates of the assembly.
13. Secure the four conveyor assembly screws with Loctite 242 or a similar
thread locking compound.
14. When re-assembly is complete, the TrimMaster stop plate will require
checking for squareness (see 3.4.3 ‘‘Squaring the Trim Stop’’).
3.4.7 Replacing Waste Conveyor Belt
Refer to IPC 964-430 - TrimMaster Standard IPC, Issue 1 - Figure 6.
1. Disconnect the mains power supply from the BookMaster/TrimMaster.
2. Disconnect the TrimMaster and place in suitable working area.
3. Remove both side panels.
4. Remove the rear cover (253-274), rear strengthener plate (253-258) and
front strengthener plate (253-203).
5. Remove the chain tensioner sprocket from the L/H side plate and slip the
chain off the bottom sprockets.
6. Remove the bottom sprocket from the L/H side of the waste conveyor
drive shaft (note washer placement).
7. Undo the three M5 x 45mm cap head screws from the infeed conveyor
drive shaft support plate on the R/H side of the trimmer. Unclip the circlip
and remove the plate.
8. Remove the circlip from the end of the waste conveyor drive shaft and
slide the top sprocket, bottom sprocket and chain off their respective
shafts, noting the washer placement.
9. Release the main drive chain tensioner.
10. Remove both L/H and R/H bearing support plates from the waste conveyor
belt drive shaft.
11. Remove the two 8mm ‘C’ clips from the rear, waste belt conveyor shaft
and ease the shaft out of the trimmer.
12. Release the drive chain from the drive shaft sprocket and carefully slide
the whole shaft to the left until the belt can be removed.
13. Place a new belt over the drive shaft and slide the shaft back into position,
ensure that the rubber paper flow pads are outer most, and replace the drive
chains.
14. Ensure that the conveyor belt is centralised (see section 3.4.8 ‘‘Centralis-
15. Re-fit all parts in the reverse order of removal.
Note:
Fitting of the conveyor belts and re-assembly of the TrimMaster is the
reverse of the removal procedure.
