TrimMaster Standard - After-Build Inspection
5.6 TrimMaster Standard - After-Build Inspection Notes
These notes complement the test sheet on the previous page.
After-build inspections are not normally necessary after a TrimMaster has
been despatched from the factory. Details are included however as a thorough
inspection may sometimes be required.
Section 1 - Visual checks
1. Check all painted surfaces of the machine for blemishes or damage.
2. Check that all guards are fitted:
• 2 side covers
• Front and rear covers
Section 2 - Accessories
1. Check that the TrimMaster has a trim bin installed.
Section 3 - Labels
1. Check that all labels are fitted in their correct positions:
• Co / - label
• Conveyor adjustment (inches/millimetres)
• Voltage label
Section 4 - Pre-run setting up
1. Check all controls and settings:
• Visually check all controls are correctly fitted
• When making adjustments cross-check that the adjustments are prop-
erly calibrated
• Adjust the conveyor through the minimum and maximum travel, mak-
ing sure it has a free and easy movement
2. Check voltage settings:
Caution
• Before switching on the machine, check that the unit is the correct
voltage
Section 5 - Running checks
1. With the TrimMaster connected to the BookMaster, hand-feed sets of 2,
4, 8, 16 and 20 sheets of A4 into the BookMaster and check the booklets:
• Check all the booklets are cut squarely and cleanly (pay particular
attention to the first sheet cut, look for a ragged edge)
2. Running the system under the Vario and using as many bins as possible:
• Check all the options on the SFT (finishing) menu and ensure they all
work correctly
• Check the booklets produced for quality and make adjustments as
required
3. Check the outfeed conveyor is set up and functions correctly:
• Check for timing and length of payout
• Check all painted surfaces for blemishes or irregularities
• Check all parts are fitted and screws tightened
4. Repeat stages 1. and 2. as above, but with BookMaster set to edge staple.
Note: Remember to reset the TrimMaster and payout conveyor settings.
Section 6 - Safety switches
1. Check that the machine stops if the TrimMaster lid is opened.
