• Insert the supplied batteries into the remote. The battery com-
partment door is at the back of the remote. The markings on the
compartment show which way the batteries should be installed.
• (Optional) Install the supplied hard disk in the Watson box. Turn the
Watson box upside down. Check that the connectors for the box
and hard disk (DVR MODULE) are facing one another. Push the hard
disk towards the connectors until the hard disk clicks into place.
Read also the Motorola user instructions included in the package.
• Connect the HDMI cable into the Watson box’s HDMI port and then
connect the other end of the cable to the television’s HDMI port.
Use the supplied SCART cable if the TV set has no HDMI port.
• Connect the power adapter cable to the Watson box’s power port
(12V DC) and then connect the other end of the cable to a mains
electrical outlet.
• Connect the network cable (RJ45) to the Watson box’s Ethernet port
and the other end to a network terminal.
• Turn on the Watson box by pressing the Power button so that it is
in ”ON” mode.

2. Log in to the service
Enter your Watson ID in the User ID field and your password in the
Password field. Confirm the ID and password by selecting Confirm.
(You can access the keyboard on the TV screen by pushing the OK
button on the remote.)
3. Select picture and sound settings
Aspect ratio:
The aspect ratio of a modern widescreen TV is 16:9,
while in older televisions it’s 4:3.
Aspect ratio selection:
• STB (recommended): The Watson box will automatically select an
aspect ratio.
• TV: The television will automatically select an aspect ratio.
HDMI viewing mode: If using an HD ready television, select 720P. If
you are using a Full HD television, select 1080P. If you’re unsure, check
your television’s manual or check to see if your television is marked
as ”HD ready” or ”Full HD”.
Sound output:
Select Stereo or Dolby Digital Surround.
