Step 3: Charging the Flight Battery
❑
Connect the alligator clips from the charger to a 12V
DC battery source. A car battery is the best choice.
Be very careful to connect the red clip to the positive
terminal and the black clip to the negative terminal. If
you connect the clips backwards, damage to the charger
will result.
❑
Plug the flight battery connector into the battery
charger connector. When plugged in properly you should
hear the connectors "click" together.
Note that the plugs can be plugged in only one way.
When the charger is connected to its power source, the red LED will blink on and off.
After you plug the flight battery into the charger, the red LED will stop blinking and turn on solid. This lets you know
the charger is charging the battery.
❑
Allow the charger to charge the battery. The battery is fully charged when the green LED turns on.
IMPORTANT
We strongly suggest periodically checking the temperature of the flight battery during charging. If the battery gets hot, it
is fully charged and should be removed from the charger immediately.
❑
After charging is completed, remove the battery from the charger, then remove the charger from its power source.
You must squeeze the tab on the charger connector to be able to pull the two connectors apart.
