Zone Damper does not appear to be working correctly
•
Is the actuator plugged into the correct jack on the Zone Controller?
•
Is the actuator properly mounted? Check for loose shaft, etc.
•
Is the damper free to move? Check for binding and/or physical damage. Does the
damper move both directions when the controller is powered up? Set to mid position
before applying power.
•
Is the Zone Controller set for DIRECT/REVERSE action? The zone controller must
be configured for correct operation if REVERSE action of the damper is required.
Caution:
Improper mounting and the associated adjustment of the damper blade
positioning is the number one cause of damper related problems. It can
be difficult to determine the full open position if the damper shafts are
not marked. It is sometimes helpful to force the damper to the full open
or full closed position and then check for airflow at the diffusers. The
damper may be forced using the control system or by unplugging the
actuator then depressing the actuator clutch release and manually
positioning the damper.
