AN003 : Bitstream 3X – Mackie/Logic control emulation
Cubase configuration
Go to the MIDI devices list and add a Mackie control device.
Select MIDI/USB In 1 and MIDI/USB Out 1 to connect this device.
Now the Mackie control configuration is done, and all sliders, buttons, transport buttons, master fader,
channel metering, time code and so on should work properly.
To manually assign the other controls of the Bitstream 3X that are not emulated (rotary knobs for instance),
simply go to the MIDI devices list and add a Generic MIDI device.
Connect this generic MIDI device to the MIDI/USB input 2, since all non emulated controls of the Bitstream
are generating MIDI on USB Out 2.
Once this configuration is done, you can start to add controls, the top part of the following windows allows to
define the type of events that are received from the Bitstream 3X MIDI Out 2, here must be selected
standard Continuous controllers (Ccs), the channels and numbers must be set according to the library
Mackie control that has been downloaded to the Bitstream 3X.
To know the Ccs channels and numbers, please refer to the annex of this document, all Ccs generated by
the non emulated controls are mentioned.
