1 -2 . DESCR I PT I O N
ELECTRICA L . Mode ls 452 and 852 operate from either 1 1 5 o r 230 vol ts a c ,
50-500 Hz , and consume l ess than 5 watts o f power . A rear-panel sl ide switch
selects the nomi nal l ine vol tage . The case of the instrument is grounded through
the power cord, but sig n a l ground can be isolated from power ground (through a
0 . 01 uf capacitor) via a rear-panel sl ide switch .
Cutoff frequency of each channe l is sel ected via three l l -position (0-1 0) switches
and a 4-position multi p l ie r switch . The two pilot l ights a l so serve as cutoff
frequency decimal paint i ndi cators. Passband Gain of 0 d B or 2 0 dB may be
selected for each chann e l . High Pass or Low Pass m ode is individua l l y selectable
for each channe l , as wel l as Flat Ampl itude or F l at D e l ay response .
MECHA N ICAL . The i nstrument cabinet is 3 . 5 inches high by 1 7 inches wide
(1 9 inches wide incl uding rack mounts) . It is 1 3 inches deep and weighs 1 0
pounds (Model 452) or 1 2 pounds (Model 852 ) .
The power switch , operating contro l s , and input and output terminals are located
on the front pane l . The rear panel contains dupl icate (pa ra l l e l ) input and output
terminals for each channel , power connector, the fuse holder, the 1 1 5/230 Vac
l i ne se lector switch , and a switch to disconnect signal ground from the power
ground .
In its standard configuration the instrument is suppl ied in a cabinet suitab le for
table-top use, with feet and tiltstan d . A rack-mount configuration is also
avai lable (See Options ) .
