SERIAL PORT
The Serial Port tab (
fig. 20
) allows users to program the serial port settings through the web configuration,
but you have to reboot the paging system for the changes to take effect
.

PROTOCOL
– Selects which paging protocol will be used on the serial port.

USE VERBOSE RESPONSES
– Controls how much data a paging system reply sends to a host device.

SERIAL PORT BAUD RATE
– Sets the serial cable speed the system is looking for from a host device.

SERIAL PARITY, DATABITS, STOP BITS
– Sets the binary data formatting for serial transmissions.
5.
FLOW CONTROL
– Controls how the paging system interacts with a host device request or message.
6.
SERIAL PORT ACTIVITY RESETS TIMED PAGING
– Controls if a timed group message can be reset.
7.
ASSUME PAGER ID AS CAPCODE FOR SERIAL PORT
– The encoder looks for capcodes instead of
translating IDs.
