Automatic WEM device search
After downloading the application into the gateway by ETS, the automatic device search
with address storage can be used to determine and store the number of active WEM de-
vices and module addresses of the WEM system. Clicking on the 'Search devices' button
starts the search and assigns the found module addresses to the name abbreviation for
the particular WEM device. The total number of active WEM devices is displayed. Under
'Addresses WEM' the assignment of the module addresses to the name abbreviations
can be found.
Note on changes in the WEM system
If the module addresses for one or more WEM devices change, it is recommended to set
the number of all WEM devices in the ETS to 0, then load the application into the gate-
way, and then restart the automatic device search. For example, this is the case when a
device needs to be replaced by another device (with different module addresses). Alter-
natively, an adjustment can also be made manually via the entries for module addresses
under 'Addresses WEM'. When problems occur hereby, it is advisable to set the number
of devices in a product category to 0, then load the application into the gateway and start
configuring again.
If more WEM devices are configured with the ETS than the gateway can detect via the
WEM system table of the WEM system device, or if more WEM devices are configured
with the ETS than are present in the WEM system, a note is shown in ETS.
