5.1.1
Max. Permitted Finger Length
The maximum finger length
L
corresponds to the distance between the mounting surface of the base jaw and
the point where the gripping force is effectively applied, see Figure 2. The maximum values for
L
can be found
in the nominal mechanical data of the respective gripping module. When the maximum finger length is ex-
ceeded, it is mandatory to reduce the gripping force. Furthermore, the operating life may be reduced.
