Periodic Maintenance

26

8.

Reinsert the filter and refill the reservoir tank with 1 gallon (4L) of hydraulic oil.
Maintain oil level with the range specified on the dipstick at all times.

9.

Dispose of used oil at an oil-recycling center. Used hydraulic oil is hazardous waste.

10.

Extend and retract push plate 5 (five) times to purge air from the system.

11.

Check hydraulic oil level and fill if necessary.

3. Change filter

Change hydraulic inlet filter every 50 hours of operation.

4. Lubricate

1.

Lubricate the beam before each use with engine oil.  Lubricate the top of the
beam and under the top edge so the push plate will easily move across the beam.

2.

If necessary, adjust the side bolts so the push plate moves freely.  There should
be no excess space between the push plate and beam.

5. Hose clamps

Check before each use if the hose clamps on the suction hose (attached to the side of
the pump) are tight.  Check the hose clamps on the return hose at least once a
season.

6. Spark arrestor

muffler

If the engine is equipped with a spark arrestor muffler, clean and inspect it regularly
(follow manufacturer's service instructions).

Replace if damaged.
