Programming the Scanner
Both Menu Pages follow a similar layout and list the selection of
programmable parameters along with the parameter variables.
SELECTIONS/VARIABLES
These columns list the program–ming parameter Selections and identify the
Variables which can be chosen to modify the default settings.
SCAN
These columns indicate which bar code symbol(s) on the Bar Code Chart
(i.e., Roman Numeral, Letter or Number) that the user must scan in order
to configure a particular decoder parameter to a desired value.
ENTER
At the top of each Menu Page is a symbol labeled ENTER which is unique
to that Menu Page. The ENTER command “activates” that Menu Page,
and must be scanned before configuring parameters shown on that page.

The Bar Code Chart
The SCANTEAM 6180 Bar Code Chart shown in Figure 4.2 is also part of
the Programming Menu. It contains the printed bar code symbols which
are scanned to program the desired selections.
