4.7 Configuring the 6180 Using
WANDMENU
The SCANTEAM 6180 can also be configured using the optional
WANDMENU Programming Menu. This program can be run on any
IBM/XT or IBM compatible PC which uses the DOS (Version 3.1 or later)
system.
The WANDMENU Configuration Disk contains the software routines
which enable the user to select from the same set of decoding parameters
which appear on the SCANTEAM 6180 Bar Code Programming Menu.
The Configuration Disk contains the following files: READ.ME
WANDMENU.EXE CODE39FA.EXE
UNINSTAL.EXE
Descriptions of the Configuration Disk files are given below.
READ.ME
Entering the command C>A:TYPE READ.ME from the DOS prompt will
generate a display which explains the general use of each *.EXE file on the
disk.
WANDMENU
This program allows you to accept, read, save and install desired
configurations for the SCANTEAM 6180. Configuration data is
transferred to the scanner through the PC’s serial communication channel
(COM1).
Command line options include: /Bnn – to set display background color
(range = 0 to 7) /Fnn – to set display foreground color (range = 0 to 15)
/S – to silence the key clicks.
/S/B – to create monochromatic display
and turn off the beep
The /B and /F options are useful for PC’s that have a monochrome display
which is able to emulate contrasting colors; for instance, an LCD display.
