Programming the Scanner
Toggle – The ENTER key will “toggle” ON/OFF menu selections such as
wand Indicators and Features, individual symbologies, and bar code
variables such as start/stop and check characters.
Cycle – Depressing the ENTER key when the cursor is positioned at Baud
Rate, Parity and Intercharacter Delay will cause the menu to cycle
(increment) through the range of allowable values for those parameters.
Record – When a decoder selection has been made and the ENTER key is
depressed the value displayed at the highlighted menu selection will be
temporarily stored and the cursor will be freed to advance to the next menu
selection.
For example, if a Preamble consisting of STX and Code ID characters has
been specified, depressing the ENTER key will cause those values to be
stored. The (
) key can then be used advance the cursor to the next
menu selection, Postamble.

Making Menu Selections
The following sections explains the functions of the ENTER and the four
arrow keys as they relate to specific menu selections.
Start–Up
At start–up, the cursor will automatically default to the LOAD Settings
control option and it will be highlighted. Depressing the (
) once will
move the cursor down the menu to the BaudRate position. Note that the
Default value for baud rate is 9600.
Baud Rate
The following example explains the use of the ENTER key to increment
menu Baud Rate selections and configure the Wand to operate at 2400
baud.
When the cursor has been positioned on the BaudRate menu line
depressing the ENTER key will cause the baud rate to cycle through
allowed values. For example, from the default setting of 9600 baud,
depressing the ENTER key six (6) times will cause the rate to increment to
2400 baud.
