Programming the Scanner
To record this programmed value simply advance the cursor to the next
menu line by depressing the (
) key. The baud rate setting which is
displayed can then be SAVED or INSTALLED in the wand by using the
appropriate control option.
In a similar manner, the ENTER key is used to increment the menu
selections Parity and Inter–Character Delay through their range of available
values.
Preamble/Postamble
Just like configuring with the Bar Code Chart up to five (5) preamble and
postamble characters may be added to bar code messages. The (
) or (
) keys are used to position the cursor on the desired menu line.
Note that the default value for the first Preamble character is Code ID, [ID]
and that all the remaining preamble selections are vacant.
The ENTER key is used to specify which of the preamble or postamble
characters will be programmed. Once a preamble/postamble position is
“active,” the (
) and (
) keys are used to increment that preamble
and postamble selection through the range of available values.
To change the default value or to program additional preamble characters
depress the ENTER key. The first character, [ID], will be highlighted
indicating it is an “active” element.
Depressing the (
) or (
) keys will increment the first preamble
character through the full range of acceptable characters. When the desired
value is displayed, move the cursor to the second preamble position (if a
second preamble character is required) by depressing the ENTER key.
Both the first and second preamble character positions will now be
highlighted. The second preamble character can now be selected by using
the (
) or (
) keys to increment the characters until the desired value
is displayed.
