OPERATION
Installing and replacing the battery
1. Make sure the scale Is turned off
2. Remove the cover from the battery compartment
3. Remove the spent batteries (If present)
4. Insert new AAA 1.5V batteries, observing the polarity marking inside the compartment.
5. Close the battery compartment cover
Caution!
•
The device is powered by two 1.5 V AAA batteries.
•
When replacing the battery, observe the polarity marking inside the battery compartment.
•
Do not dispose of spent batteries with domestic waste. Drop them into a dedicated recycling bin.
•
Never re-charge single-use (non-rechargeable) batteries.
•
Do not short-circuit the battery poles or contacts.
•
Do not expose batteries to heat (direct sunlight, heater, fire etc.)
•
Risk of explosion! Never disassemble or short-circuit batteries or throw them into flame.
•
Always remove the batteries before prolonged storage of the device to prevent damage from possible
electrolyte leak.
•
Remove discharged batteries from the device.
•
After exposure to leaked electrolyte, immediately wash the exposed skin under running water. In the event
of contact with eyes, immediately seek medical attention, as the battery's acid can irritate or burn eyes.
•
Swallowing a battery can be fatal! Keep batteries out of the reach of children and pets. If you suspect your
child or pet has swallowed a battery, seek medical attention immediately.
Weighing
•
Attention! Before weighing something, wash the stainless steel bowl!
•
Place the scale on a stable, even and dry surface. In order to ensure correct readout, do not place the scale
on a towel or cloth.
•
Press the ON/OFF/TARE button to turn the scale on. After several seconds it will display “O".
•
If the display shows zero (for the selected unit); A circle symbol appears in the lower left corner of the
screen - It means that the scale Is ready to work.
•
Otherwise adjust the balance and press ON / OFF / TARE again.
•
The current unit of weight applicable to the displayed result can be seen on the display. When you change
the unit, the symbol changes accordingly.
•
To turn the scale off, press and hold the ON/OFF/TARE button for approx. 3 seconds.
•
The scale will turn off automatically after approx. 120 seconds of inactivity.
Changing the unit of weight
After turning the scale on, you can change the unit of weight with the UNIT button.
Each pressing of the UNIT button changes the unit as follows:
Units of weight: g (gram) / lb (pound) / oz (ounce) / ml (milliliter)
Resetting
After the scale is turned on, it resets automatically regardless of the object placed on it. This function may be used
for taring when starting up the scale.
Taring
After turning the scale on, you can tare It to obtain the net weight of your product (i.e. without packaging, plate etc.).
In order to do this, weigh an empty package/ vessel (e.g. Jar), press the ON/OFF/TARE button, wait until the scale
displays “0”, then weigh your product placed In an identical package/ vessel (e.g. Jar with grains inside).
Display indicators
Displays when the maximum capacity of 5 kg (5,000g) is exceeded.
Batteries are low. Replace the batteries promptly.
