4 Safety Instructions
To protect against the risk of electric shock, injury, fire
and explosion, the following safety instructions must be
observed:
4.1 Safety in the Workplace
Untidiness in the workplace increases the risk of an
accident!
Only place the WTT1 in the original holder.
Children and unauthorised persons are not permitted
in the work area.
The relevant safety rules and health and safety
regulations must be observed.
All equipment used is only permitted to be used if in
correct working order.
Do not work on live parts.
The place of work should be of ergonomic design.
Errors in posture lead to damage to posture.
4.2 Personnel Requirements
The WTT1 is only permitted to be used by qualified
personnel assigned to use the unit.
Every person involved in the usage, cleaning and
repair of this unit must have read and understood
these operating instructions.
Personal safety equipment must correspond to the
safety requirements of the place of work,
this includes:
- Protective clothing
- Safety glasses
- Face mask
- Ear defenders
- Gloves
Protect yourself from solder splashes, there is a risk
of burns from liquid solder.
4.3 Electrical Tool
Do not use the cable for purposes for which it is not
intended.
Treat electrical tools with care.
Do not use the WTT1 in damp or wet environments.
Remove flammable substances from the work area.
Do not use the WTT1 near flammable liquids or
gases.
It is only permitted to use the WTT1 in accordance
with its intended use.
Protect the connecting cable from heat,
oil and sharp edges.
Regularly check the connecting cable for damage.
Immediately remove damaged electrical tools from
use.
It is not permitted to disable safety devices.
Do not carry the WTT1 by the probe or connecting
cable.
Only use accessories or auxiliary equipment that are
listed in the list of accessories in the operating
instructions.
Only use WELLER accessories and auxiliary
equipment with original WELLER equipment.
The usage of other tools or other accessories can
result in a risk of injury.
If the WTT1 is operated in conjunction with other
equipment, the safety instructions given in the
operating instructions for the other equipment must
also be observed.
4.4 Health and Safety
Risk of burns from hot probe.
Take care with sparks.
Only work with good illumination.
The WTT1 must not be left switched on
unsupervised.
When work is complete, switch off the WTT1 and
unplug from the mains.
4.5 Maintenance and Repair
Electrical tools are only permitted to be repaired by
qualified electricians.
Unplug from the mains prior to performing
maintenance and making repairs.
Follow the maintenance instructions.
Only original WELLER spare parts are permitted to be
used.
Important!
Hazards for life and limb if the safety instructions are not
observed!
