• Decreased peripheral blood flow may cause false results. For example if you are suffering from severe
dehydration, are in a state of shock, are in a hyperosmolar state (with or without ketosis), or have hypo-
tension.
• The glucose test strip has not been validated for testing with neonatal blood specimens.
• Lipemic sample: Cholesterol levels up to 326 mg/dL (8,43 mmol/l), and triglycerides up to 750 mg/dL
(8,47 mmol/l) do not affect the results. Grossly lipemic patient samples have not been tested and are not
recommended for testing with the Wellion Blood Glucose Test Strips.
• The test strips are not recommended for critically ill patients.
Limitations of the total cholesterol test
Wellion LUNA total cholesterol test strips give accurate results when the following lim-
itations are observed:
• Hematocrit (Hct) percentage may affect the test result. Hct levels less than 35% may
cause incorrect high measurement results and Hct levels greater than 50% may
cause incorrect low measurement results. Please consult your medical professional
if you do not know your Hct level.
• Use only venous or fresh capillary whole blood. Do not use serum or plasma.
• Wellion LUNA total cholesterol test strips may be used at altitude up to 3.048 m
(10.000 feet) without an effect on test results.
Additional Information for Healthcare Professionals:
• Interferences: Acetaminophen, Ascorbic acid, Creatinine, Dopamine, Glucose, Hemoglobin, Ibuprofen,
Methyl DOPA, Salicylate acid, Uric acid, Galactose, L-DOPA, EDTA, Maltose, Tolbutamide, Tolazamide, Xy-
lose do not significantly affect the test results. However, abnormally high concentrations in blood may
cause inaccurate test results.
