With RS-232 communication, the scanner communicates with the host using a communication program like
ESP Terminal.
The standard settings for creating an RS-232 connection are:

If the RS-232 interface is active, USB communication is turned off, and you will have to reset the scanner or
press the “USB Keyboard Mode” symbol to return to USB.

The baud rate is the speed at which the scanner and host transmit data. It only needs to be changed when
the host settings need to be adjusted.
