2 Installation
Prior to installation of the WERMA-StockSAVER software, the individual hardware components of
the WERMA-StockSAVER system must be installed on the flow-rack.
2.1 System overview
The WERMA-StockSAVER system serves as a signal point in the logistics chain and monitors fill
levels of commercially-available FIFO flow-racks. Fill levels are communicated wirelessly and
visualised in the WERMA-StockSAVER software based on the interaction of the system com-
ponents.
Item Component
Description
1
Optical sensor
Detects the bins and sends the status information to the
SensorBox.
2
SensorBox
Receives the status information of up to 4 optical sensors
per location.
Sends the data to the SmartBox via the bus system.
3
SmartBox
Receives data from up to 50 SensorBoxes.
If a optional barcode scanner is used and is configured
accordingly in the WERMA-StockSAVER software, the
SmartBox displays placement errors.
4
Transceiver
Receives data from up to 20 SmartBoxes.
Transfers the data to the WERMA-StockSAVER server ser-
vice in the network. The server service stores the data in
the WERMA-StockSAVER database.
Up to 4 transceivers can be analysed for each database.
Maximum wireless range: 300 m (line-of-sight)
Power is supplied via the supplied power supply unit
Connection to the network via Ethernet
The sensors in the flow-rack detect the fill levels. This status information is collected by the Sen-
sorBox and transferred to the SmartBox via the bus system. The SmartBox transfers the data wire-
lessly to the WERMA-StockSAVER software via a transceiver.
If an optional barcode scanner is used, placement errors can also be detected early on.
