Safety Notes
If possible, read the complete User Manual (or at least these safety notes and the chapter on
the initial operation) before powering up your instrument for the first time.
In the interests of your own safety,
you should follow the basic safety measures described
below in order to avoid serious injury or even fatal accidents from electrical shocks, short
circuits, damage, fire or other dangers.
The following are imortant safety measures. However, they do not represent a complete list.
Power Supply
•
Use only the power supply unit supplied with your instrument
•
Check the power supply, all connections and the cable at regular intervals for damage or
dirt.
•
Never lay the power supply cable near sources of strong heat such as electric fires or the
like, do not overbend, do not lay heavy objects on it and do not lay it in places, where
people are likely to tread on it, stumble or fall over it.
•
In order to avoid damage, always pull the cable from the socket by the plug and
never by
the cable.
•
Where possible, do not connect the instrument to multiple sockets with other high power-
using equipment running, e.g. lighting equipment.
•
Remove the plug from the socket if the instrument is not in use for any length time or in
thunder storms to avoid damage through overload, for example.
Position of Instrument – Water/Cleaning Hazards
•
Position the instrument on a firm floor.
•
Avoid positioning the instrument near strong sources of heat or in places subject to great
changes in temperature or humidity.
•
Ensure that there is always clear ventilation to the rear of the instrument.
•
Never place the instrument near equipment emitting radiation such as fluorescent tubes,
television sets, mobile telephones and such like in order to avoid irradiation which can lead
to interference or a reduction in the instrument’s sound quality.
•
Never put naked flames, such as candles, or drinks on the instrument.
If ever electrically conductive objects or liquids get into your instrument,
you should switch off and unplug the instrument immediately.
Do not switch the instrument back on, until it has been checked by a qualified WERSI service
engineer.
Never try to open the instrument or attempt to make any repairs or technical
modifications yourself.
•
Never switch on the instrument if it has just come from an unheated environment (e.g. a
car) into a warm space. Wait until the instrument has reached room temperature before
switching on to avoid electrical damage caused by condensation and current leakage.
•
When cleaning your instrument only use a soft, slightly damp cloth and never chemical
cleaning agents or cloths.
