Historical Information
Since 1742 it has been playing in the church of the German city of Zöblitz: the organ of the great Freiberg
master Gottfried Silbermann (1683 -1753). It is one of his medium-sized organs. The registers are divided
between the two manuals MANUAL (lower manual) and OBERWERK (upper manual) and the pedal.
The registers are distributed among the manuals as follows:

registers than for the upper manual (Oberwerk).
History of the Silbermann organ
The parish had been in contact with Gottfried Silbermann since 1736 and a contract had already been drawn
up between him and the parish on April 25, 1736.
But only in March 1742 were the carriages with the organ parts brought from Freiberg to Zöblitz and the
journeyman Silbermanns started to work until in July 1742 the organ could be handed over in a solemn
service.
Silbermann received 800 Talers for the organ in Zöblitz and 2 Talers and 18 Groschen in addition. There was a
4 thaler tip for his journeyman.
