Historical View 1
The register buttons for the areas Manual and Oberwerk as well as the pedal are arranged according to the
scheme that the builder Gottfried Silbermann defined in 1742.
The registers for the MANUAL, i.e. the lower manual, are marked with the letter M.
As here in the example PRINCIPAL M.
The registers for the OBERWERK (upper manual) are marked with the letter O.
The three registers for the pedal have the word BASS in their name.
The function COPULA O.-M. is available as a special button. This transfers the
registers of the upper manual (OBERWERK) to the lower manual (MANUAL).
The tremulant changes the volume of the sound - it begins to vibrate - and
only to a lesser extent does the pitch change.
A bell is triggered via the KLINGEL (bell) display button. This was intended to
inform the faithful about the beginning of the service.
