3.9 “B” DELETE
PROFILE B
- You are able to delete or add colors
with Profi le B. By deleting colors, you are raising the
detection threshold. By deleting colors, you are able to
eliminate small targets and/or clutter from the screen.
3.10 “B” THRESHOLDS
PROFILE B
- Thresholds can be adjusted up or down
depending on your fi shery. By lowering thresholds,
weak targets will appear on the screen without adjusting
Gains. By raising thresholds, only strong targets will
appear on the screen.
WESMAR recommends a
THRESHOLD TYPE 3
for schooling strong targets like sardines, anchovies,
and herring.
THRESHOLD TYPE 2
for dispersed
or single targets.
THRESHOLD TYPE 1
for ground
fi sh and bottom typing

MENU 4: TRACK START HISTORY
Track Start History is only for reference. Each time a
school of fi sh has started the tracking process, Menu
4 will log in the date, time, latitude, and longitude. A
total of twelve entries will be listed. New trackings
are added to the top of the list with the oldest dropping
off the bottom.
5.0 MENU 5: TEMPERATURE PROBE
The reusable temperature probe RTP is an option to the
HD800 sonar systems.
To read water temperature connect the RTP cable to
the BNC connector on the back panel of the console,
labeled temp. Select menu number 5.
Move the cursor to highlight units. Move the cursor right
or left to select Fahrenheit or centigrade. To calibrate,
move the cursor to highlight calibrate. Place the RTP
in the water. If the water temperature is known from
some other reliable device, move the cursor to the left or
right so the reading on the monitor screen is the same.
Success in some fi sheries is determined by water tem-
perature. Some pelagic fi sh move around in the warmer
upper layers of the ocean to avoid colder waters below.
