INSTALLATION AND OPERATION
PART A:
CONSOLE AND MONI-
TOR INSTALLATION
1.0
LOCATION
1.1
The Slimline console may be installed in any con-
venient place inside the vessel--on a fl at surface or
set into overhead or bulkhead mounting. Make sure
the console is not close to any inverters, converters,
or transformers than man interfere with the sonar
performance.
Install console and monitor in a location away from
salt spray, heat sources and direct sunlight. Allow
airfl ow to the console cooling fan, located on the
back panel. Never install a display monitor on
top of a Slimline console. A monitor on top of the
console may introduce noise and lower sensitivity.
In general, the HD800, like all other sophisticated
computer equipment, must be protected from severe
temperature conditions.

ACCEPTABLE POWER
SOURCES
All HD800 consoles operate on a universal power
supply of 12 to 32VDC voltage.
The Slimline console has an AGC 32V (fast blow)
fuse, which varies according to input voltage:

NOTE:
Before connecting the console to ship’s
power, check fuse to see if it has the correct
AMPerage.
A power surge or lapse may cause your sonar to freeze.
If this happens, turn the sonar off and on.
Using a power source that maintains its voltage and has
a minimum of voltage surges and spikes will ensure
Allow 25 mm (1 inch) clearance on the sides of the
console for adequate airfl ow.
