Maintenance and Cleaning
Check the entire steel cable in regular intervals for damages and check the
limit switch for proper function. Raise the cable winch until the switch-off lever
(upper end) (A) activates the limit switch.
If the steel cable is damaged, e.g. buckled or torn, have it replaced with a new
cable. Have the cable replaced by a specialist workshop. The switch-off weight
(E) must not be forgotten when fitting the new cable as this guarantees proper
operation of the limit switch.
Lubricate the pulley (D) regularly with a little oil.
Make sure, the winch is always clean, dry and free from oil.
Only use a dry or slightly damp cloth to clean the winch. Do not use aggres-
sive cleaners or inflammable substances such as petrol, thinners, turpentine
etc. under any circumstances.
Pay attention, that the ventilation slots are clean and unblocked at all times in
order to prevent the unit from overheating.
Before operating the cable winch, check and ensure that all mechanical parts
of the winch run easily.
After use clean any dirt or water off the unit and, if necessary.
After repairs or maintenance, the cable winch should be tested to ensure that it
is operating correctly.
If the cable winch has been used outdoors, additional care should be taken
regarding maintenance.
Never repair or maintain the cable winch while it is loaded.
Check frequently by operating the cable winch with and without a load,
stopping at various positions to test that the load is being held correctly. If the
load continues to move down when the cable winch has been stopped, the
cable winch should be taken out of service and repaired.
